What Types of Thai Cats Does Mo RoyalThai Cattery Offer?

Currently, we have Authentic Thai Tonkinese and sometimes have Siamese available. We have 1-2 litters each year and accept deposits to place you on our waiting list.

We also have Burmese, we utilize our Thai Burmese in our breeding program to add health and vigor to our American Burmese kittens. These kittens are 100% Burmese kittens.

Our foundation Cats have been genetically tested for the known issues that American Burmese have due to excessive inbreeding. We utilize this information when determining a mating, genetic diversity is key in breeding healthy kittens.

Why Are Thai Cats So Social?

Thai cats have evolved over centuries to have the amazing Thai cat personality. This is because in Thailand, all life is celebrated. Even cats who live on the streets, or in the Temples are cared for. Since the Thai cats have learned that humans are great companions for them throughout the centuries, their personalities have adapted to be great companions for us!

Kinks in Their Tails?

It is uniquely Thai that some kittens would be born with a kink in their tail. As I understand before registries, this is how the western culture could tell a cat was a purebred, the kink. This kink doesn't hurt the kitten, it is not a defect but merely a trait of their ancestors. Since my Thai cats are from Thailand, at times a kitten may have a kink in its tail.

Umbilical Hernia?

In natural cats, sometimes we see umbilical hernias. The majority of umbilical hernias will not cause any harmful effects to the kitten and will go away on their own when the kitten reaches six months. Those which dont spontaneously heal can be repaired when the kitten is altered, with no lasting effects.

What Causes Umbilical Hernias?

An umbilical hernia in kittens is caused by an incomplete closure of the kitten’s abdominal muscles shortly after the time of birth. Inside the womb, a kitten’s abdominal muscle are open to allow the passage of nutrients from mother to infant. This abdominal opening is called an umbilical ring and the umbilical blood vessel, or cord, attaches baby to the mother. As the kitten is born, the umbilical blood vessel is pulled, eventually snapping off, which in turn pulls the abdominal wall. In most cases, this naturally occurring action of birth doesn’t result in a hernia, but for unknown reasons, some kittens develop the condition.

Ghost Markings?

In natural cats, especially those who have Thailand lineage, solid coat cats can have what appears to be tabby stripes on their coat. What are these? Ghost Markings/Ghost Patterns: Faint tabby stripes visible in the coats of some solid-colored cats, most commonly found on kittens (the majority of kittens lose their ghost markings as they grow older).

All of our foundation cats have been genetically tested to assure our cats are free from known health defects and are in fact Burmese, Tonkinese, Siamese, etc. Part of this testing assures we have non-agouti (solid color) cats. However, because of their unique and beautiful lineage, these ghost markings can be seen in our kittens who have Thai lineage.
